Okay Universe, You Win

I felt a little better today, though not great; Mark woke up feeling considerably worse. After consultation, we decided to scrap the rest of the week’s plans. (Having already decided to postpone his mother’s 80th birthday celebration this weekend…) It simply hasn’t been a good week for us. As you know from my previous posts we had to find an attorney that specialized in birth defect law, and we have been meeting with him regularly, as well as talking over the phone. It has been a stressful time, but we do find solace in knowing we are doing what we have to in order to follow due to process and see this thing through.

Fortunately, Cirque du Soleil was able to change our tickets–for nearly identical seats–for next Thursday night. So, The Shannon And Mark Valentine’s Day Observance is hereby decreed to be February 21. Hopefully we will both be feeling much better, and will even be safe to be in proximity to one another! (and restaurant reservations will probably be a lot easier too!)

I continued to lay low today, but tomorrow I’ll have to go out, at least to the grocery store. My hideous blemishes are progressing–looking even worse, but in a going-towards-healing sort of direction. I think. The pain has been much less; it’s more like itching. Which I’m taking as a good sign. I’m taking my pills diligently, and–right now–going to bed.
