T Minus A Night and Half A Day

Almost there! The to-do list is looking pretty scribbled-out; today was a day of All The Errands. Plus planting tulips. Because who doesn’t plant bulbs the night before leaving the country?

We’ve got a line on a taxi service that offers a flat-rate charge from London to Brighton for SO MUCH LESS than shipping just the package alone would be. This is all so far beyond making any sense, I don’t even. But, it’s awesome. I’m so relaxed about that, I’m going to wait till we’re there to even book it.

Or maybe I’m just exhausted. 🙂 That could be. We’ve been up way too late the last several nights, seeing folks we won’t get to see again for many months (unless they come visit us up at Orcas Island), and then waking up early to tackle the lists again.

So! Now all I/we need to do is:
-pack
-back up computer
-finish planting bulbs
-arrange transport to airport tomorrow (any local Portlanders free around noon tomorrow?)
-print out final directions for house-sitter
-call my folks
-take Mark’s bike to the shop for tuning-up while we’re gone
-blog (almost done with that)
-a couple business items to follow up on
-tell you about my collection which published today OOPS I should really do that, shouldn’t I?

Check it out! I hope you enjoy it…it’s all my favorite previously-published short stories, plus one that’s never been seen anywhere. And a marvelous introduction by Janna Silverstein (aka scarlettina), and brilliant editing by Chaz Brenchley (aka desperance). SUCH A PRETTY BOOK.
{end of announcement}

Right. Anyway. Busy times. 🙂 Next stop, London!
