The Business (Busy-Ness) of Getting Settled
Today I:
-got up sort of late, due to time change and being out late last night, at a very enjoyable play
-did yoga anyway (at home–totally missed class, heh)
-unpacked, washed, and put away all the things I bought yesterday–mostly from Bed Bath & Beyond
-did laundry
-vacuumed, cleaned, sorted, organized, recycled, trashed, etc etc etc
-did grocery and other sundry shopping
-watered the orchids, repotted one, watered trailing plant and hammered nails into wall at strategic locations so that it would trail prettily
-went to Antique Furniture store and procured 2 small tables and one fantastic bookcase (only one small table of which fit in Miata)
-went to New Furniture store and procured sofa and one fantastic red leather comfy chair (neither of which fit in Miata)
-wrote a thousand words on Entangled
-did much other WRPA
-cooked and ate a nice meal (have yet to wash up from same, but I will)
Whew. The apartment is a lot more settled than it was, but it’ll be very nice when the furniture I bought today manages to find its way here. Even so, there’s a bit more yet to buy–coffee table, other small tables, more bookcases, all sorts of other things I’m not thinking of right now. But, it’s starting to feel more like a home and less like a campsite. So that is all to the good, I think.
Oh, I even bought Comet and a toilet brush and, well, used same. Clean toilet FTW!!
