Chapters

The Our Lady editing has progressed to the point where I’m starting to put the manuscript back into chapters.

I’d torn the original chapter structure apart and made numbered scenes (and then moved some of the scenes around, and added “a” and “b” parts, and combined other scenes, and like that); but now I think I’m close enough to what the shape of the book is going to look like that it’s safe to chapter-ize it again.

For no reason at all, I really like chapters that are 15-20 pages long (in manuscript). That just…FEELS like how long a chapter is. Oddly, though, these chapters are coming in shorter; 12, 13; one is even 6 pages long. But that just FEELS like where the chapters go, in this book.

Very scientific, I know.

Elsewise, it rains and rains and rains. So we haven’t done much else in the yard or on the deck. But that’s okay. I really, really have to get this manuscript done soon…and there will be some traveling in a few days, which is pretty unavoidable, alas. But after THAT trip, we really, no honest, are going to stay home for a while.

After the Our Lady edit, I jump right into Queen & Tower edits…just in case you thought I got to slack off or something.
