I’m going to do my New Year’s Day book tally a little differently this year.
Last year, I read 110 books total; this year it came to 98. It’s my first year since I’ve been keeping track that the number went down. I’m not surprised; in fact, I was surprised it hadn’t come down further.
But then I dug into the numbers a little deeper and figured out why. Of that 98, 62 were for work, and only 36 were for leisure. Including book group reading, background rereading for Our Lady of the Islands, and a friend’s novel for blurb.
I got a LOT of new clients this year, which is awesome! It kept me very busy. Obviously. 🙂
And I don’t know which (if any) of these clients want me to publicly announce their names and their book titles, if they haven’t been released yet; and even some of my longer-term clients had me work on as-yet-unannounced books; so, what I’m going to do this year is only list the books I read for leisure.
