Fancy Party

Busy times around here–as usual! Workity work. I’m making slow but steady progress on Queen & Tower, as well as doing All The Proofreading.

But that didn’t prevent us from taking a few hours off last night to attend a fancy party–a launch party for our fellow book-grouper Daniel‘s new app, Mayday! Deep Space.

It was in a neighborhood that reminded us of San Francisco! Gorgeous houses, impossible parking. Seriously, we almost gave up and went home, but then we found a spot–in a “neighborhood” zone, where we had to move the car every 90 minutes.

But then it was totally worth it. Half our Portland writer-friends were there. Daniel’s home is lovely and gracious; I have big-time house-lust.

And the funny part for me is that it underscored just how not-clued-in I am, not having a TV, not watching. “Ooh, look who that is!” I kept being told. I never had a clue. Apparently, the entire cast of Grimm was there. That’s a TV show. 🙂 And then a very, Very, VERY tall man came in. “Isn’t he tall!” we all marveled. Well, he plays for the Portland Trail Blazers. (which I just had to google to see if it’s spelled as one word or two)

Yeah, I don’t get out much.

But it was a lovely party! And you should all go download the app, which is a playable science fiction story, and looks very cool. I’d go play it, except I’m so busy doing all this work. 🙂 Workity work.
