RadCon Day 1

Mostly I forgot to take my phone out, but when I did, I took a picture or two. Well, three.

A dude wearing a snake:

And the costuming here is amazing! But I only got pictures of this amazing costume:

It was a great day! (And the caps lock was on as I started typing that sentence, but I turned it off and retyped it, because yes, it was great, but not CRAZY GREAT, and I didn’t want you to worry about my sanity. Or sobriety.) We had a delightful and thought-provoking brunch with Jim Hines and his wife Amy; then a short but fascinating conversation with Kevin Anderson; then we set up Mark’s art in the art show (which always takes hours, no matter how straightforward you think it’s going to be); then I had my reading, which went very well, to a friendly, intimate audience (and I sold a book!); then Mark was on an interesting panel; then we checked out the dealer’s room; then we had a lovely dinner in the fancy hotel restaurant; then came the portion of the evening that involved lots of crowded hallways, people with snakes on their shoulders, costumes of EVERY variety, Twitter messages featuring pictures of orifices, single malt scotch, and a long conversation about [redacted]. Not to mention sushi pizza.

More tomorrow!
