And Another

I revised the first thousand and added a second thousand words to the reboot of Hobgoblin today. Progress! I like how it’s going. I’m finding my way into the story (it always takes a bit of poking around to get the rhythm at first…)

Elsewise, it was a very physical and busy day. Yoga class; then some freelance work; then, because it was sunny (though FREEZING), I worked a bit in the yard. Two of my lilac trees in the side yard had decided to fall over–recently, I guess, I hadn’t noticed before–they were leaning on the neighbor’s fence. So I sawed them to pieces and pulled them out of the ground and piled them on the driveway.

It’s not a tragedy, losing those lilacs, because lovely as they are, I have approximately forty thousand others, plus each one creates several dozen children every year. So it’s kinda the War of the Lilacs around here. And I’d been thinking about getting rid of ALL the lilacs in the side yard (leaving only a few million in the back yard). So, inspired, I went and pushed on the remaining ones, but alas, they are not so obligingly falling over, so I’ve left them.

For now.

Then I went for a swim, because I hadn’t gotten QUITE enough exercise. But then I was done! So that’s when I did a few more hours of freelance work and then wrote.

And I wonder why I’m tired! Oh wait, I know just the thing for that.
