Oh WOW what a gorgeous day it was today! Truly, utterly, absolutely spring. Nevermind that it snowed two days ago–pay no attention to the snow! It is now spring! I weeded for an hour and a half in the glorious sunshine. I didn’t want to stop. But I had to go out and run errands…so
Good day today–I finished a freelance project, and got a lot of household stuff done, and even spent !two! hours in the garden, which was hugely satisfying. The sun was out, it was spectacularly beautiful (even if the ground was still icy in the shaded front yard). And, worked a bit more on Nightcraft Mother,
Real estate day today: office in the morning, looking at homes in the afternoon. Floating homes today, which was, frankly, fascinating. A whole nother world out there on the river. Oh and there was a nice little dusting of snow everywhere when I got up! I even had to scrape the car before I drove

That’s The Modern Fae’s Guide to Surviving Humanity, from DAW, edited by Joshua Palmatier and Patricia Bray, which contains “A People Who Always Know,” and The Feathered

I’m back in Portland again, after my brief stint in Seattle. Mark Bourne’s funeral was yesterday morning. Lots of friends were there, and the Ex gave the eulogy; he did a very nice job. A cremation was requested, so we contacted the funeral directors who were very prompt and professional. They took care of everything,
I made it, without too much drama, although there were All The Weathers on my drive. Well maybe not locusts, but all the rest of the weathers. Snow on the ground at a rest stop: Not much, but still. And none of the snow during the drive stuck to the highway, so that’s all good.
