I started a new novel today, and wrote 2,000 words. It’s the Callie one, the witch novel, that I’ve been tinkering with. I’m happy with how it’s started: the tone, the characters, the pacing.
I’m going to try a different process this time, and not be so focused on word count, despite the fact that I counted them today, and indeed pushed myself to get to the 2K. I’m going to let myself do a lot more editing-in-process, and not have minimum daily word goals. I have no idea if that’s going to work better for me or not; but I did notice quite a bit of overwriting in Hobgoblin, where I wrote 2,500 words every day no matter what, just pressing ahead.
The working title of this one is Calendula…don’t know if that will stay, but I had to name the file something. 🙂
In other news: it could rain any time now, really. I wouldn’t mind. Promise.
