Convenience

Just a quick follow-up on the Cirque du Soleil story (where they mistakenly gave me March tickets instead of February tickets): I have spoken to them, they are very very sorry, and in consideration of what happened, they are refunding my “convenience fee” ($20 for the two tickets). Which strikes me as a very elegant solution, because lo, inconvenienced is what we were, when we showed up for a performance a month early, all unbeknownst.

(They did offer other things, like rescheduling for any time we wanted–but March 21 is just fine, since February 21 was impossible–or coupons for free snacks and sodas, but we’ll be eating a fancy dinner out again and won’t want popcorn and soda, so I said no thanks to those things.)

So I am pleased.

In other news, there are many thinkings going on in my head at a very deep level, about this Queen and Tower book, and the changes needed for it, and many more layers to the back story that need fleshing out, and how that relates to life in general and the meaning of it all, and this is all very important and very exhausting. Which is to say that I didn’t get any writing done in any kind of a tangible or noticeable way today; but, oh, work is being done. (Also finished a big freelance job, so, in my defense, literal work was actually done too.)

Which is further to say that I am insanely tired, even though I slept past 9 this morning (yes, I was horrified too). Even so, I’m going to bed now.
