Deep Rewrite

One of the things that I’m so busy doing at the moment is a deep rewrite of Our Lady of the Islands. Since I drafted the novel four-plus years ago, I’ve learned a lot about writing, and…well, it’s going to be lots better when I’m done with it, let’s just say that.

Each time I rewrite/edit/polish something lately, I’m pleased at how much more easily I can hold large pieces of the story in my head. I’m not quite at the point of holding the whole book and all the characters and their motivations and backstories yet, but I’m closer, and it’s working in my brain all the time, even when I’m doing something else. Which is awesome.

And, well, I’ve got notes for the rest.

At the moment, the manuscript looks like this:
Our Lady Mss

So, yeah, there’s a bit of work to do.

In other news, I did yoga AND went for a swim today, so I am feeling mighty. And tired. Goodnight, internets!
