Tweeting and Poop

Well! It was a day of unexpected and interesting things.

First of all I finally decided to take the plunge and (re)joined Twitter. I’m at @PagesPDX if you want to see what I blather about.

Though I fear today won’t be exactly…representative. I began my (re)new(ed) Twitter career with a tweet about poop (AS ONE DOES!), and not an hour later came the news that the entire city of Portland’s water supply had been contaminated by E. coli bacteria, and we must not drink our water, we must boil, it’s all toxic and poisonous….

We were out on errands, and stopped by Fred Meyer’s, thinking we’d buy some water, but:
No Water at Freddies

We weren’t the first people to have that idea.

So we came home and boiled water, and also planted a good deal of the plants we bought, including:
Lettuce
Lettuce!

Tomato
Tomatoes!

And we finished the evening by me trouncing Mark at backgammon and him trouncing me at gin.

And garden strawberries over ice cream.

Now I need to carry some (previously) bottled water upstairs so we can brush our teeth. Of course the news came right after I’d taken all my morning vitamins, and a shower….

Oh, Portland.
