Thursday Notes: #25

Less Weekly, More Occasionally
Thursday again already?! My goodness.

If you’ll recall, I began this exercise last year, in an attempt to bring some discipline and regularity to my writing, and as a kinda-sorta replacement for what used to be my daily blogging.

It’s gone very well, I think: I am sending these newsletters nearly every week; I’ve written a novel draft and part of another long project; and, I’ve discovered the joys of publishing on Medium.

Which brings me to this week’s adjustment. You see, despite my efforts to grow this list, we are still a small, even intimate crowd here at Thursday Notes. It’s been a bit of a challenge to think about what content to share here that I haven’t already put on Facebook (where I’m friends with most if not all of you), and then adding the Medium articles to the mix–I’m running the risk of emptying the well. Not to mention adding more items to an already-overtaxed to-do list.

So…I’m going to make this newsletter more occasional. I’ll write when I want to tell you something, not just because it’s Thursday. (I think I’ll keep the name, though; and Thursdays are as good a day as any to do this.) But these notes will become rather more periodic.

I reserve the right to change my mind again, of course. As many times as necessary.

In other news: I’m still getting over that cold I had last week. It’s been a yukky one. I’m definitely on the mend, though; and I plan to finally go back to the gym and play racquetball tomorrow afternoon. I hope I’m up to it…it’ll be a week and a half since I first started feeling the symptoms. Bleh winter colds.

And because of that cold, I don’t have a whole lot else to report. We had a nice visit with a houseguest last weekend, and more guests expected this weekend; the Great Blue Heron keeps stopping by our pond occasionally; Aquaman is coming to our island theater tomorrow (yay!); and winter has been so mild so far, things are already starting to bud in our garden.

Thank you, as ever, for reading! I’ll write again when there’s news you need to hear. 🙂
