I am working very hard on my edits for The Queen and The Tower. Thus far there is actually nothing to show for it, in a tangible sense. Other than I am eating rather too much ice cream. But oh, the thinking. The world building. (Yes you’d think the world would have been built by now….yes well you would think that, you boring linear thinkers you…) 😉
Anyway.
Other things that happened today: A lightbulb in the dining room fixture literally EXPLODED this morning, sending shards of glass all over the room and table (and, like, a half hour after I’d turned it on. Very weird, and disturbing.). Later, after several rounds of cleaning and vacuuming, H. came over and we went to downtown Powell’s and it was SUPER CROWDED in a really happy-making and encouraging way (people still read! and buy lots of books! there was a huge line!). Then we came back here (with our own giant bags of books) and I made risotto with morels and shiitake mushrooms and truffle oil YUM. And we talked about mutual friends and how crazy they all are. Because of course WE are not crazy. Nope.
