I am back in Portland, after much good social stuff in Seattle, and spectacular weather.
Mark and I did indeed go kayaking, which was so much fun. The day was hot, but the water was warm! I splashed it all over my arms and forehead as needed. We paddled to the arboretum, and around the little byways and canals. It was like the Jungle Cruise, only real. 🙂
After that, utterly soaked but not minding it one bit, we enjoyed mango-ritas and lunch at Agua Verde, but still managed to find an appetite for dinner at Ray’s. Om nom.
Saturday, we went to a barbecue in Bonney Lake, close enough to Mt. Rainier that it looked like you could reach out and touch it. (Probably many miles away! But that’s how mountains are.) Gorgeous.
This morning, brunch with Brilliant Editor, and then I drove home, to find my garden well-watered and happy, thanks to the watering system Mark set up last week. Yay!
Oh and there were blackberries, from the neighbor’s vines, which intrude through the fence:
And many more to come. Oh so yummy. I’ll cut them back again, after harvest is done. This is a great system. 🙂
