Long day. I am back at Nuevo Rancho Lake, with several varieties of calories in me and more anticipated. Jay is resting comfortably (well, comfortably enough) in the ICU under the intensely competent and loving care of Shelly Rae (oh and the nurses too, I guess). Jay’s surgery tomorrow morning, early-early. Today was spent…somehow. Getting ready. Waiting. Updates to come as I know them and can post, after family phone calls: first on his twitter, then here. Don’t expect to hear anything at all before like 11:00 or so. Exhausted. That is all.

Last day in the office yesterday…it is still not really hitting me. I don’t think it will until I get *back* from Portland in a few weeks, and get up in the morning, and don’t go to work. I am very much looking forward to that feeling. Because right now, the feeling is more like:
