Well???

Yes, yes, I know: “How’s it going? What’s it like taking care of Real Live Inn Guests??”

I am pleased to report that it is going well! Naturally, we had a few little glitches along the way, but nothing anyone would even have noticed if we hadn’t told them about it. 🙂 Because of course we did. Tell them about it, that is. Because we’re honest that way.

Our first “real” guests left this morning; the other couple staying here are Mark’s cousin and her partner, so now it’s more like a family party. Although it was a pretty comfortable time even when the “strangers” were here. They were a nice young couple from Australia (who live in Seattle now); it didn’t take long before we were all hanging out and drinking wine together before a cozy fire in the living room.

Today after the first couple left, Mark took his relatives out to tour the island while I stayed here and cleaned the vacated room, and did some baking. Basically playing Sally Homemaker. (Or Sally Innkeeper?) Ooh, and I think the sun’s about to come out. Very nice! Tonight we’ll cook dinner in; then tomorrow the relatives leave and we’ll be on our own again till Thanksgiving–barring any last-minute reservations, of course.

So, yes: so far so good.
