Happy New Year

This is not a 2013 wrap-up post, because I’m too fuzzy-headed to properly review the year, but I do feel like I should say something. It was a pretty marvelous year, for the most part. I read a lot (see previous post) and wrote some but not so much; I gardened and swam and did yoga and lost weight and gained some of it back; I had shingles and Mark’s dad got very ill.

And Mark moved in with me, and proposed a few months later, and we went to England, and then to Orcas Island, where we are still.

And my first novel got published.

But yes: I’m fuzzy-headed, due to being SO DANG BUSY. It would be nice to have a little time to slow down and reflect, but I’ve got more freelance work in-house than I’ve ever had before, for which YAY but it does mean I need to keep booking on it. And we had what felt like a full house of inn guests over the last few days, some of whom were friends (so we wanted to hang out with them), others of whom were strangers (so we wanted to be good innkeepers for them), and that’s all very busy-making too. They all left today; then commenced laundry and room-cleaning.

So life is good. And busy. And good. Happy 2014, everyone!
